Jawula, Ade And Agra Given Three Months To Pay Back FA

Alhaji M.N.D Jawula, Joseph Ade Coker and Wolarnyo Agrah, all former members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), have been given a three-month ultimatum by the Executive Council of the GFA, to pay back monies misappropriated during the hosting of CAN2000 by Ghana and Nigeria.

According to the Chairman of the Executive Council, Alhaji Y.A. Ibrahim, both Alhaji Jawula and Ade Coker have sent letters to the FA pleading that they should be given time to settle the amount involved.

No word has been heard from the immediate General secretary of the FA, Worlanyo Agra, who was also implicated in the committee’s findings.

Alhaji Jawula, who was the then FA Chairman, is to pay back an amount of Twenty Three Million Cedis, Ade Coker Sixteen Point One Million Cedis and Mr. Agrah Nine Million Three Hundred and Six Thousand Cedis being cost of provisions he claimed to have purchased during the tournament.

The three were found to have exhibited poor financial judgement in the exchange of $450,000 into Cedis, which led to a minimum loss of 6.8 million Cedis and a maximum of 369.4 million Cedis.

The money was released to the FA by CAF for the co-hosting of CAN 2000.
