Hearts sack coach Zito before he quits

Accra Hearts of Oak sacked their coach Abdul Karim Zito on Sunday while he was preparing his resignation letter.

Zito was relieved of his post immediately after yesterday?s 1-1 draw with Tema Youth, a result which drew the ire of the supporters.

The coach was preparing his resignation after the game but before he could finish writing the letter to jump the obvious, he was pushed by the new Hearts management which announced his sacking.

Zito gave the club its worst start in a decade as Hearts are tenth in the Premier League after seven rounds of matches.

Hearts engaged the services of the former Asante Kotoko trainer in the pre-season after parting ways with Bulgarian coach, Mitko Kostadinov Dubrez who won the league title last season.

The member said the defending champions are considering replacing coach Zito with either Mohammed Ahmed Polo or Ken Auggust, both previous trainers of city rivals, Accra Great Olympics.

German coach Ernst Middendorp who was recently fired by Arminia Bielefeld three weeks ago ago has also been linked to the post but his agent Herbert Mensah has denied the deal.
