Agyemang sidelined for at least three months

Former Ghana under-17 striker Opoku Agyemang has been ruled out of action for at least three months after suffering a broken leg.

Agyemang, who plays for African Confederation Cup champions CS Sfaxien of Tunisia, was cluttered after a collision with goalkeeper Hamdi Kasrawi of arch rivals Esperance during a league game.

The nasty challenge prompted a walk off from CS Sfaxien who were down by 2-0 with only five minutes of action left.

Opoku was immediately taken to hospital where doctors said he needs at least three months to return to action.

Sfaxien players refused to complete the game and left the pitch.

Club officials blamed referee Samir El Hamami, claiming that he failed to protect their players.

"The referee should be held responsible for what happened," said Sfaxien spokesman Emad el Masdi.

"We withdrew from the pitch because we felt that the safety of our players was under threat."
