JOSE MOURINHO watched Chelsea move into the fifth round of the FA Cup and then revealed John Terry is set to return against Charlton next week.
The Blues killed off League One side Nottingham Forest with three first-half goals from Andriy Shevchenko, Didier Drogba and Mikel Jon Obi at Stamford Bridge.
The champions now face Blackburn on Wednesday night before taking on struggling Charlton, and Mourinho hopes that Terry, out of action with back and calf problems since December 13, will finally be back in action against the Addicks, Mourinho said: "He has a little chance to play against Blackburn but a big chance against Charlton. “But to be fair, Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Essien have been playing together for a long time and playing very well." Terry admitted that the cup-tie against Forest arrived just too soon for him as he bids to shake off the calf injury that has restricted his comeback.
Terry said: "I don't think I'm quite ready yet but it won't be long.". Mourinho will be boosted by Terry's return, as it will compensate for the lack of any new signings in the current transfer window. The Portuguese Coach does not expect to welcome new faces to Stamford Bridge before Wednesday's deadline but hopes to have Dutch winger, Arjen Robben back from an ankle ligament injury within a fortnight.
There was little to worry Mourinho against Forest as Chelsea ended their dreams of a cup upset as early as the ninth minute. Andriy Shevchenko put the champions in front when his shot was deflected into the net by Forest defender John Curtis.Ten minutes later, Didier Drogba scored his 22nd goal of the season with a superb 25-yard free-kick and Mikel Jon Obi added the third on the stroke of half-time.
A goalless second period meant it was the perfect ending to an afternoon, which began with Mourinho once again pledging his future to the club, and warning possible successors that he will be a hard act to follow.
Mourinho added: "I think it is difficult to be a manager after me at any club, so I would not recommend it. "I know the list is quite long - 11 or 12 managers of Chelsea - but even if the list becomes bigger it is no problem for me. I am cool but it is my desire to stay at Chelsea. "We had a team on the pitch working together against Forest. We did a professional job and 3-0 at half time meant the game was over. "We deserved the result." Forest boss Colin Calderwood was full of admiration for Chelsea and admitted his side failed to compete until the second half.Calderwood said: "I cannot take any positives out of the defeat. "Our fans were great but their rewards will come later in the season, we hope. I had hoped we would have been more competitive than we were. "We didn't take part from the first goal until about 30 minutes. We improved in the second half but it is easy to react when you are three down. You have got to do that when it is 0-0”.
