The Minority's behaviour has confirmed our deep fears - NDC MP
The National Democratic Congress MP for Juaboso, Sampson Ahi says the minority's boycott of parliamentary proceedings confirms suspicions of what he says is their [minority] complicity in a concerted move to cause needless tension ahead of the December polls.
Mr. Ahi alleged that, the Minority MP's acted on the orders of the NPP's party Chairman, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey and General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie [Sir John]whom he claims urged the MP's to ensure that the controversial CI 73 is not passed.
Minority caucus in Parliament staged a walked-out on Monday in protest of some anomalies surrounding the controversial Constitutional Instrument (CI)73 creating 45 new constituencies.
The Minority are demanding reasons why CI73 which was withdrawn from the Parliament on August 15,due to some anomalies has metamorphosed into CI77.
But speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Sampson Ahi said the Minority MP's are crying foul over nothing.
According to him, both CI73 and 77 are the same document but only a change in the number hence the NPP MP's cannot frustrate Parliament to kowtow to their "whims and caprices".
Sampson Ahi added that, since the CI needs 21 sitting days to mature into law, giving legal backing to the creation of the 45 new constituencies, they [Majority caucus] would do everything humanly possible to ensure it comes into fruition.
The Juaboso MP could not fathom what he describes as the NPP's penchant to undermine the integrity of the Electoral Commission (EC) three months to the general elections.
He said the Majority will ensure the will of the people is carried out at the expense of the selfish minority who he claims are seeking their party's interest.
Sampson Ahi urged the minority to reconsider their stances and return to the House to undertake their constitutional duties.
