The Prof. was incoherent in repeating the citation after the CJ, why? Did he not go through any rehersal?

I like that part of the presidetial oath : "and to do right to all manner of persons" can an NDC president abide by such an oath? I think the state was unfair to President Mills to have made him take such an oath. A government formed by the NDC is about wickedness, intimidation, secret killings, removal of Armed Forces Officers from their present appointments, interference with the Armed Forces Code of discipline, promotion of juniors above seniors and eventual breakdown of discipline all over. The signs are clear: the appointment of aggrieved persons into sensitive positions, the Rawlings factor and many more, all point to a state of insecurity for many Ghanaians.

Subject: “PDL SENDS CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO PRESIDENT JOHN EVANS ATTA-MILLS OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA”.

The entire Executives and members of the Sierra Leone People's Democratic League (PDL) doff our hats to you, H.E. President John Evans Atta-Mills, as you assumed your new office, as President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Ghana following your electoral victory at the December 2008 polls.

We are not unaware of the machinations of the forces of colonialism and retrogression that attempted to dupe you your hard fought victory and by extension to ensure that the aspirations of the people to have a better and secured economic future were nipped in the bud so that they can continue with their anti-poor legislation and economic policies that after eight years in power has pauperised the Ghanaians further.

The PDL has also been apprised of the moves by some rogue elements in the defeated government to cause chaos and mayhem and following that declare a state of emergency as a strategy to deny you your mandate and by extension deny the people of Ghana their choice of who rules them in the next four years. However the steadfastness of the revolutionary and democratic forces led by the vanguard of the people – the National Democratic Congress, NDC, – and supported by such fiercely patriotic organisations such as the Committee for Joint Action, CJA, to mention but one made sure that your victory was not stolen as was the case in 2004 which has made it impossible for the results of that unfortunate election not to be gazetted four years after.

As you occupy your seat of President of Ghana, we in Sierra Leone can take inspiration from the fact that your steadfastness, doggedness and remaining focused has paid off as you ascend the high seat of President of the Republic of Ghana. We are also inspired that by remaining committed to our ideals and manifesto, the PDL can also, in the next election, take control of the affairs of state of our dear country, Sierra Leone and rebuild her into a nation, not the “banana republic” that the failed and outlived Sierra Leone People's Party (SLPP) and All People's Congress (APC) want it to be.

The PDL also believes that with your experience as a former vice president and your overall knowledge and wisdom, the case of regional integration through the banner of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) shall become a reality so also is the quest for a Union States Africa as spelt out by late Osagyfo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah whose disciple you are. We will however like to caution that you occupying your new office is but just the first step towards giving dignity to Ghanaians as the election results have shown that there is a sizeable number who unfortunately do not believe in One Ghana. These set were once used to truncate Ghana's march forward and these counter –revolutionary elements are very much alive and ready to be used to achieve their selfish, evil and myopic agenda. Therefore as a matter of urgency, we will like you to extend a hand of friendship to these sections of the populace albeit with caution.

In addition, we want to apprise you of the situation in neighbouring Republic of Guinea where the military had to step in once more to restore democracy and the rule of law. Much as we are against military takeover of governments, the situation in that country warranted a takeover and we suggest that your government supports the stand taken by H.E. Abdoulaye Wade of Senegal, Brother Muammar Al-Qathafi of the Socialist People's Libyan Arab Jamahiriya and other progressive leaders on the continent, including General Ibrahim Babangida, former head of state of Nigeria appointed by ECOWAS to consult with the new leaders. The CNDD government of H.E. President Moussa Dadis Camara inherited a situation whereby during the authoritarian rule of late President Lansana Conte Guinea's natural resources were tapped to buy favours from foreign diplomats and to enslave the people.

Once more on behalf of the entire leadership of the PDL and the people of Sierra Leone we congratulate you believing that as two political parties from two different countries but with one ideology – that is placing the destiny of our nations in the hands of the citizenry – we have more in common to work towards and that is the economic emancipation of our people through systematic and carefully thought out strategies that will free our people from hunger, poverty, disease and ignorance and set us on course to achieve the dream of the founding fathers of the African Union.
Your Excellency, may your term in office be crowned with extraordinary success alongside that of your vice H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the entire membership of the NDC and its founder H.E. Jerry J. Rawlings the government and people of Ghana.

Long live Ghana, Long live the NDC

Long live Sierra Leone, long live PDL
