The management of Kapital Radio, a Kumasi-based private radio station on Monday presented a cheque for GH¢4,500 as part of the cost for surgical operation on 12-year-old Cynthia Atule.
Cynthia was diagnosed to have a complex heart disease called Tetra Logy of Fallout in 2006 by the management of Cardiothoracic Centre at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra that demanded GH¢9,000 for the operation.
Mrs Judith Agyemang, General Manager of Kapital Radio, in 2006 launched an appeal for assistance and some philanthropists donated that yielded GH¢4,500.
She presented the cheque to Cynthia's parents in Kumasi.
Madam Patricia Appiagyei, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive and one of the philanthropists, expressed appreciation to them for their gesture that was in fulfillment of God's command to mankind to take care of the needy in society.
She was optimistic their assistance would save Cynthia's life and called on well-meaning Ghanaians to contribute their quota to raise the money.
The other philanthropists are managements of Ultimate Fashions, African Origin Travel and Tours, Kessben Group of Companies, Latex Foam Rubber Products Limited, Lizmart Shopping Centre, Kenpong Constructions, NIIT, Cedi Trust Financial Services and Nadville Enterprise.
