This year 10 June 2012 marks the 20th anniversary celebrations of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Founding Day.
The NDC UK & Ireland Chapter, its Branches, the Executives and the general membership wish to congratulate the entire NDC Family for reaching this historic moment in the annals of Ghana's new democratic dispensation.
The NDC as a social Democratic Party has shown over the years that it believes in the attainment of equality and fraternity of all men and women under the law without regard to ethnicity, race, religious belief, ideology, culture, social or economic status.
The NDC as a Party believes that democracy cannot be limited to the electoral process alone, nor can it be confined to the hallowed halls of Parliament. the Party believes democracy must go beyond these to include human, economic and social rights which are conferred not by constitutional provisions but by an inbuilt and well nurtured culture of respect for humanity and production and distribution of public wealth, especially basic goods and services to every man, woman and child
It is upon these basis that in 2008 the National Democratic Congress presented its Better Ghana Agenda manifesto to the people of Ghana. Under the able leadership of his Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills the country has made unprecedented gains in the management of the economy, phenomenal investments made in the Education, Health and the Agricultural sectors as well as landmark progress made in almost all sectors of the national life in order to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians.
The NDC as a political party has over the years shown that it is committed to social democracy because its origin is in the grassroots participation and the involvement of ordinary citizen in the decision making process.
One cannot hide the fact that the NDC as a political entity is today going through a trying and testing times. The NDC UK & Ireland Chapter calls on all stakeholders to show resilient in the face of all odds to put heads together in order to resolve such internal matters affecting the fabric and well being of this mighty organisation. Without unity we cannot prove our commitment to the social democracy principles to which we subscribe to.
The NDC, UK & Ireland Chapter joins hands with all, to salute the His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills, the Founder, Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings, The Council of Elders, the National Executives and the party's general membership at the regional, district and constituency levels, to endeavour to make this day a historic moment in the history of our dear Nation.
We believe that Unity and Stability are the drivers for accelerated economic growth and Development.
God Bless Our Homeland Ghana, God Bless NDC!!!!!!!!!!
