As part of the 4th Annual All Africa Service Project to be held on the 21st of this month, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be having a clean-up exercise, to show love in solving some of the problems in our various communities.

Briefing the media, Naa Sekyere, Assistant Director to the media, said this activity was to show commitment among the youth within the church, and as well get closer to the various communities within the Accra metropolis.

She noted that every branch stake within Accra would have its location for the activity, and said the clean-up exercises would include cleaning, clearing of weeds, and de-silting of drains.

Other exercises include cleaning of fish landing sites, de-silting chocked gutters, and the filling potholes.

She said some of the areas where the clean-up exercises would be held also include hospitals, markets, beaches, police stations, children's parks and schools.

I guess they have to do something to improve their negative public image!

This is great. I know a lot of Mormons, and they are always serving others, always improving communities and lives around them. It is their way of life it seems. Thank you for your service Mormons! You are a true example of Christ to us all. They came to Amasaman and blessed our people with surgery and service in the hospital. Their people have taught our children in schools and we love them for it. Thank you.

I guess they believe in acting like real Christians - unlike some who just like to criticize and tear-down others.

ghanaskeptic: Maybe we just feel like it is our responsibility and duty to serve and help others. That is what Christ taught. And if by serving and letting others know about it maybe it will spark a desire in others to serve as well. We have many problems that face us. Let's face it together.
