The Northern Regional Crime Office of the Police is to question some supporters of the NDC for allegedly assaulting the acting Regional Secretary of the NPP.

The NDC activists allegedly assaulted Isahaku Faisal, at a filling station in Tamale, accusing him of insulting a chief.

Narrating his ordeal to Joy News, Faisal said he was talking to friends when the NDC activists numbering about six, approached him and demanded an explanation as to why he insulted the chief.

“Before I could say anything in an attempt explain to them what actually took place, they started beating me until some good Samaritans came to my rescue,” he stated.

According tom, he was rushed to the police station where he was given a medical form with which he sought medical care.

“Where we normally sit at the Goil Filling Station, we people from all shades of political opinion and NDC people were there when they came and attacked me.”

The Regional Crime Officer Superintendent Paul Baaba told Joy News that the case had been recorded at the police station and the necessary action will be taken.

He said the suspects mentioned will be invited and questioned.

According to him, arrests were not made because the case was that of assault.
