NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
President Kufuor has acknowledged that the harsh economic conditions in the country have had negative effects on this year’s Christmas celebrations.

He however believes that the situation is better this year than it was last year. In an exclusive interview with JOY FM, President Kufuor promised that Christmas will be celebrated next year under better economic conditions and prosperity for more Ghanaians.

The President’s Christmas celebrations began on Christmas Eve at a musical concert organized by renowned Ghanaian musician, Kojo Antwi. He was however happy that prices of goods have stabilized this year contrary to the tradition where goods become expensive during Christmas festivities.

Meanwhile, Ghanaians are joining Christians all over the world to celebrate Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ some 2000 years ago. Church services are being held throughout the country and extra seats have been provided outside the main halls of many churches to accommodate both regular and occasional churchgoers.

The day is also being marked with re-unions such as picnics, get togethers as well as exchanges of messages of reconciliation and good wishes from friends and relatives. For some traders however, Christmas day means business as usual. They believe that business activities should not be halted because today is Christmas day.

Quite a number of shops are doing brisk business across the country and their owners say Christmas gives them an opportunity to make more money. The beaches and other places of entertainment have not experienced much people, perhaps due to the fact that there was a lot of merry-making on Christmas Eve.
