Mills mourns Ga chief priest

The leader and presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor John Evans Atta Mills, on Tuesday visited the Usher Fort Museum to sympathise with the Nai We, and the Ga State, as they mourn the passing of Numo Tete III, Ga Chief Priest.

Professor Mills paid glowing tribute to the late Chief Priest and recalled the nation-building role that the late Nii Tete III played in his position as the Chief Priest.

He also recalled how as Vice President, he had several fruitful interactions with him.

“At all times, he wanted nothing but the best for the Ga State and Ghana and as much as the Na We and the Ga state have lost a fine brain; Ghana as a country has lost a true and committed son of the soil.”

The NDC leader also signed a Book of Condolence and pledged to take part fully in the funeral activity and will also be present when the late Nai Wulomo was laid to rest.

On his part, the Head of the Nai We, Numo Yartey, thanked the NDC leader for taking time off his extremely heavy schedule to mourn with them.

Numo Yartey informed Professor Mills that wake will be kept for the late Nai Wulomo on October 13, to be followed by burial on October 14 at Aplaku. Final funeral rites will take place on October 18.

The NDC Leader was accompanied by, Mr Jonathan Nii Tackie Commey, NDC MP, Odododiodoo, Mr Enoch Teye Mensah, NDC MP, Ningo Prampram, Nii Lantey Vanderpuje, Director of Operations, Mills Campaign Team, as well as Executive Members and supporters of the NDC in the Odododiodoo constituency.
