A three-day rally for the Nyinahin Deanery of the Christian Mothers Association has ended at Abuakwa in the Atwima Nwabiagya District.

The rally, which was on the theme; “Who is a Christian Mother”, brought together mothers from eight parishes of the Roman Catholic Church.

The parishes included Toase, Abuakwa, Akropong, Kwadaso and Asuoyeboa. The rest were Nkrumah, Kufuor Camp and Nyinahin.

Mrs Faustina Akyea, President of the Nyinahin Deanery of the Association called on parents to make conscious efforts for the spiritual growth of their children, since they were God's heritage and will be accountable to him.

He called on the parents to resist any temptation of being partial in the love for their children.

Mrs Akyea deplored the increase of immoral films on TV and on the internet, as well as films associated with the use of guns that were frequently shown, and noting that, children who watched such films were tempted to practice whatever they saw on the screens.

The Roman Catholic Parish Priest of Toase, Reverend Father Stephen Opoku called on parents to act as role models in society, so that their children could emulate them.

Highlights of the rally included singing competition, talks on food and nutrition, sensitization on elections 2008 and menopause.
