Ten Senior High Schools in the Upper East Region, on Wednesday took delivery of a bus each, donated by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND).

Mr. Alhassan Samari, the Regional Minister, presented the buses to the Deputy Regional Director of Education, Mr. Paul Apanga in Bolgatanga,

He said government would continue to implement measures to boost education in the country.

Mr. Samari said “The main focus on education now is to provide excellent quality and easy accessibility that would give every child of school going age a chance to be in school and to get the best out of school”.

He urged the school authorities to maintain the vehicles and use them to promote education in the region.

Mr. Samari expressed regret that examination results in the region in the past few years had not been encouraging.

He asked school authorities to initiate effective measures to improve the performance of students saying, “Government has done her part and you should put up your best”.

Mr. Apanga who received the buses on behalf of the schools, gave the assurance that authorities of the educational institutions would ensure frequent maintenance of the vehicles.

He said the delivery of the buses would enhance teaching and learning in the region.
