Mr David K. Clottey has been re-elected as the National Chairman of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) to steer the affairs of the union for the next four years.
The CWU, which comprised institutions such as: the Ghana Telecom, Kasapa Telecom, Ghana Post, Ghana News Agency, Metro TV, TV Africa, exZeed Limited, a call centre industry, and ZTE Limited, a Chinese telecom company, is believed to be the fastest growing union currently in the country.
A statement issued on Tuesday to the Ghana News Agency said Mr Clottey together with six other National officers were elected at the end of June at the Union's Fourth Quadrennial Delegates Conference at Kumasi.
More than 150 delegates made up of Divisional, branch and local union executives from all the eight institutions named above attended the Conference under the theme: “The Impact of ICT Delivery in Ghana's 50 years Development: The Role of the Union".
Other elected officers included Mr V. M Coleman, 1st National Vice Chairperson, Ms Vivian Adoboe-Tefe, 2nd National Vice Chairperson, Mr James Tetteh Lartey, General Secretary, Mr Henry Dela Ayivor, Deputy General Secretary, Mr E. B. Darkwah, 1st national Trustee and Mr John K. Amarkye, 2nd National Trustee.
The statement concluded and urged all members to accord and recognised these national leaders as well as cooperates with them in their day to day union activities.
