NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
Mr. Jacob Avokbilla, a teacher at Pelungu Junior High School near Nangodi in the Talensi-Nabdam District, on Thursday donated 75 copies of HIV/AIDS books he authored to the Talensi-Nabdam District Directorate of Education.
The book, titled “The Truth and Remedy to HIV/AIDS,” is to encourage people to read about the virus and to avoid contracting it.
Mr. Francis Ayaaba, the Talensi-Nabdam District Director of Education who received the books, commended Mr. Avokbilla and said it would help educate the pupils on how to behave responsibly to avoid contracting the virus.
He recommended the book to schools and requested for more copies to be purchased for pupils in the district to enable them read them at home with their parents.
Mr. Ayaaba appealed to all teachers to get a copy of the book to impart the knowledge to children during lesson hours.
The author of the book promised to extend the donation of the books to other District Educational Directorates in the region and appealed to the Municipal and District assemblies to help him print more copies to be given to schools.
