NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.


A renovated GH¢1,000 computer laboratory for the Owabi District Assembly Basic School near Akropong in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region has been inaugurated.

It was jointly financed by the Parent- Teacher Association, School Management Committee and the community.

Mr Thomas Ofori-Donkor, Atwima Nwabiagya District Chief Executive, who performed the inaugural ceremony, commended the chief and people of the community as well as the stakeholders for assisting the school.

He said, "It is the vision of the government to enhance information and communications technology at all levels of education in the country, hence the implementation of the new education reform".

Mrs Diana Appiah, District Director of Education, noted that "the world has reached a crucial stage where information technology has become the order of the day in facilitating communication and contacts among people around the globe".

She urged the teachers and pupils to be abreast of the new technology in order to help build the capacity of the nation's human resource development to a higher level.

Mrs. Appiah called on the teachers and pupils to ensure regular maintenance of the facility.
