The Kumasi East Rotary Club in collaboration with Brothers and Brothers, a local Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), has presented wheel chairs to the Suntreso District Hospital in Kumasi to be distributed to the health posts in the country.

The donation was in response to an appeal made by the health centres to help enhance health delivery in their facilities.

Beneficiaries include Sekyeredumasi, Asante Mampong, Nyame Ani, the Seventh Day Adventist (Domenase), Nkoranza (Nkwabeng), Abiriw Akuapem and Suntreso District Hospitals as well as Magazine and the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Clinics.

Physically-challenged persons also benefited from the chairs among others.

Mr. Charles Amoako, president of the Club, who made the presentation, said government alone could not provide all the needs for the needy in society hence, it was incumbent on all Ghanaians to also give a helping hand.

He promised that Rotary would continue to offer its philanthropic services to the society to ensure a better life for humanity as enshrined in their motto: “Service Above Self.”

Mr. Agyapong Boateng, Administrator of the Suntreso Hospital, received the items on behalf of the others.
