Nana Dwumor Benneh, Director of Consumer Banking for Barclays Ghana said the training was part of a series by the bank to sharpen the skills and build the capacity of “Susu” collectors, who were members of the bank’s micro-banking programme. “Barclays is committed to helping ‘Susu’ collectors to improve upon the conduct of their activities through the use of E-Zwich and enhance their businesses,” Nana Benneh said. Mr Elvis Aboagye-Manu, President of the Ghana Cooperative Susu Collectors Association, thanked Barclays for its continuous support. He said the training programme was an eye-opener and urged members to apply the principles they had learnt very well when E-zwich became fully operational. A similar training programme is expected to be held for the over 700 “Susu” collectors of the Barclays Micro-banking programme across the country. Barclays said it was committed to increasing the number of “Susu” collectors it worked with to 1,500 by close of the year.
