US-based lawyer donates trophies to School sports festival

Sunyani (B/A) Aug. 30, GNA - Mr. Kwame Taylor, a Ghanaian lawyer based in the United States of America and a sports enthusiast has donated 16 trophies worth 57 million cedis to the Schools and Colleges Sports Federation as his personal contribution towards the promotion of athletics in Schools and Colleges.

Mr. Taylor made the donation at the opening ceremony of the 24th edition of the Federation's Inter-Regional Sports Festival in Sunyani on Monday.

He told the press that the donation of the trophies was part of his continued support in assisting the Federation in the organization of such festivals, adding that he had in the past assisted in diverse ways including the donation of video communication gadgets and other equipment for the past 13 years.

Receiving the trophies on behalf of the Federation, Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister thanked Mr. Taylor for his kind gesture.

Mr. Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports and Dr. Thomas Adeleke Olaiya, National President of Nigeria Schools Sports Federation who is the Coordinator of West Africa Schools Sports were present at the presentation ceremony.
