The Management and staff of Greenhills School of Health Science (GSHS), a private health training institution in Accra, has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education in-charge of Tertiary, Professor Kwesi Yankah in Accra.

The purpose of the call was to introduce the school to the Minister as the a school in Ghana to produce the first locally trains and professional certified Occupational Therapy Assistants as a focustheir focus on the rehabilitation needs in Ghana, inform him of what it has been doing since its inception in 2008 and what the school stood stands for.

Led by the founder of GSHS, Rev. Dr. Charles Antwi-Boasiako, management also informed the Minister on how the school is workingis working to secure accreditations with the National Accreditation Board (NAB), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Allied Health Professional Council (AHC) to start five degree programmes such BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Medical Llaboratory Science, BSc OccupationalOperational Therapy, BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery.

Apart from this, the school also made known of the current certificate courses it is runningoffering such as certificatesit currently in Physiotherapy Aassistant, Medical Laboratory Science Assistant, Operational Occupational Therapy Assistant and Health Care.

As part of the schools’ graduation ceremony which falls on the 3rd June, 2017, it will be receiving a team of 18 Doctors in Physiotherapy Physiotherapist with expertise in different fields including sports physiotherapist, muskuloskeletalmusculoskeletal and orthopedics physiotherapist, stroke experts etc. from the George Fox University in the United States of America (USA), who are the school’s affiliates from the 30th May to 13th June, 2017.

They also took the opportunity to inform the Minister of the visit of the team from George Fox and invited him to the graduation.

As part of the school’s corporate social responsibly by way of given back to the society, the ddoctors in physiotherapy from the George Fox University will embark on free physiotherapy treatments to the general public including those with cerebral palosy cases, spondylosis, arthritis, stroke, waist pains, back pains, knee pains, sports injuries among others.

Currently, pre-screening of Ghanaians with such complications is ongoing at the School’s premises behind the Mallam Market.

The Ffounder of GSHS, Rev. Dr. Charles Antwi-Boasiako told the Minister of Education in-charge of Tertiary, Professor Kwesi Yankah that the school is a credible one because all their courses have been accredited by the appropriate accrediting bodies in the country.

He said being the school to produce the fthe first locally train and professional certified Occupational Therapy Aassistants, Greenhills School of Health Sciences has since graduated 106 students and is expected to graduate over 100 trainees in various health professions on June 3, 2017.

Professor Yankah on his part commended the school for the good job done for the nation and urged them to keep it up.

He also commended Greenhills for school’s corporate social responsibly by way of given back to the society, where the doctors in physiotherapy from the George Fox University will embark on free treatments to everybody with cerebral palosy cases, spondylosis, arthritis, stroke, waist pains, back pains, knee pains, among others.

Prof. Yankah encourage management to speedy up the accreditation process to enhance their chances of offering the degree programmes in such as BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Medical Llaboratory Sscience, BSc Operccupational Therapy, BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery.

The Minister promised to be of help to the school anytime they call on him or need the Ministry’s assistance.
