Kumasi Central Prison receives 4.5 million cedis gifts

Kumasi, April 30, GNA - The Prisons Christian Fellowship, comprising of various churches and the Alive in Christ Ministry, have jointly presented items valued over 4.5 million cedis to the Kumasi Central Prison. These included assorted drugs, four bags of maize, a bag of rice, soap, toiletry, used clothing and 240 Bibles. Evangelist Addai Anim, Vice President of the Fellowship, said it was their contribution towards making life a bit comfortable for the inmates of the prison.

He said apart from giving them materials support, the Fellowship has also been sharing the gospel with them to help turn them to God so that they would become law abiding when they regain their freedom. The Reverend Father Martin Paddy, the Chaplain of the Prison, who received the items, said they were grateful to the fellowship and the Church for the donation.

He appealed to public-spirited individuals, NGOs and institutions to complement government's efforts at improving conditions in the country's prisons.

Earlier, the Rev. Atta Boateng, Founder of the Alive in Christ Ministry, advised the prisoners to give their whole lives to God and resolve never to go back to their bad ways.
