Winneba(C/R), March 31, GNA-Members of the executive of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly have praised Captain Steve Kwamena Armah(Rtd), the District Chief Executive for the area for the bold and workable measures he initiated to commence work on the new multi-billion cedis office complex for the assembly six months ago.
The 7.8 billion cedis administrative block, when completed would accommodate workers of the District Assembly and various decentralized Departments, corporations and agencies in the district.
They contended that even though the idea to construct a new and bigger office complex for the assembly was mooted over 10 years ago, had it not been the effective measures initiated by Captain Armah and supported by the assembly the drawings of the office complex would have remained unworkable for good.
The committee was highly impressed at the work of the contractor who is executing the project when they paid an unannounced visit to the project site to assess progress of work.
The decision to inspect the project was taken at an emergency meeting organized by leaders of the committee to appraise their performance during the first quarter of the year and to adopt new measures to facilitate development in the district.
Chairpersons of the assembly's works and development Committees, Mr Kofi Taylor and Mr. Moses Arhinful Acquah, who jointly led the inspectorate team said regular and effective monitoring system adopted by the DCE accounts for the good performance put up by the contractor. They appealed to workers and all stakeholders in education in the district to lend their maximum support to the DCE and members of the assembly to bring about the necessary transformation.
