Accra, Oct. 4, GNA - The United Cadres Front (UCF) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in collaboration with the NDC Parliamentary Aspirant of Ayawaso West Wuogon, Mr Delali Akwasi Brempong have orgnanised a clean-up exercise in the constituency.

The exercise, which was undertaken at Abelenkpe by the two parties was supported by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly and residents of the Constituency to ensure that preventable diseases like cholera and malaria are controlled.

The exercise was organised in relation to the National Sanitation Day organised every first Saturday of every month.

Mr Brempong told the GNA in interview that a similar exercise would be organized for residents in Dzorwulu in the first week of November.

He said: 'For the past six months, I have cleaned Legon, Abelenkpe and other places and today is the turn of Abelenkpe and I am not doing it just because I want to be given the chance in the upcoming election.

'I think my chances of winning this election is very high because the constituents are saying the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) disappeared for three years after the election and is just re-appearing therefore they need a change in this constituency.

'I am an ordinary man who will go to every ground to ensure that my people are happy therefore I believe the ordinary people, the well-meaning Ghanaians will give me the chance to act.'

Mr Brempong if he given the mandate, he would work on educational fee fund, health support fund, job creation, infrastructural development, security, sanitation, and small-scale loan for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.

'One other thing I intend to do when given the mandate is to establish an entrepreneurial and business leadership institute where graduates can learn bankable plans and steps,' he said.

Mr Efanam Felix Nyaku, Member of the Interim Management Committee of the UCF said it is necessary to conduct the exercise because the change in weather and constant raining comes with lots of diseases if the environment is not kept clean.

He said as they clean up the constituency, they were also advocating peace because at the end of the upcoming general election, there won't be a Ghanaian if there is no Ghana.

Mr Nyaku said the Aspirant is an embodiment of the national agenda that is being pursued by the NDC.

He said Mr Brempong respects people's approach and opinions, hence the right person to be voted for.

'We have seen the one who is currently the MP. We have weighed him and have seen the frustration and disappointment he has visited onto us by his lack of interest in matters of the constituency,' he said.

He said Mr Brempong's interest is in helping the poor, needy and the vulnerable, which is the underpinning the NDCs Social Democratic ideology.

'Our chances of winning in this constituency is very great because the constituents are directly affected by the social interventions in this constituency,' he added.
