MTN To Provide ICT To Hospitality And Housing Sector

The ailing hospitality and housing sector in Ghana is yet to see another facelift as MTN seeks to add a touch of ICT to reposition the sector on the international arena to become globally competitive.

The General Manager of MTN Business, Mr. Sam Addo, said, their network solution, internet and massaging, data services, business and security solutions are tailor-made and can help improve operational efficiency and position their businesses to attract the right investments.

He said this at the Maiden MTN hospitality and housing fair under the theme, “Accelerating Business Growth with Smart ICT Solution,” held in Accra.

Mr. Addo added that MTN has positioned itself as an enabler of growth for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) sector through the provision of ICT solutions.

According to him, MTN is committed to driving digital inclusiveness by creating unlimited opportunities for both individuals and SMEs.

During his official address at the occasion, he noted that MTN has through these fairs engage several SMEs in different sectors of the economy including agriculture, manufacturing, mining and several others.

He indicated that MTN is giving a special focus on the housing and hospitality sector because of the huge demand on the industry in Ghana currently.

“We believe that through this engagement, we can put their ICT needs into proper perspective and designed solutions that will best serve their needs,” he stated.

Mr. Addo emphasized that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations, we must integrate ICT into the hospitality and housing industry to become a critical as a source through which most persons can get connected.

He posited that MTN continues to invest in new technologies which provide opportunities for faster internet connectivity to customers.

“After we launched the 4G mobile technology, we proceeded to expand coverage of the service by introducing the High Speed Fibre Broadband Technology, designed to provide fix internet connectivity to homes, offices, corporate organizations and SMEs,” he intimated.

Mr. Addo indicated that the introduction of this service is the first step towards their commitment to supporting the housing and hospitality industry in Ghana to experience its growth.

The event was graced by the President of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association Mr. Kwakye Dopoah-Dei, players from the hospitality and housing sector and, financial and banking institutions at the Alisa Hotel.
