Host of Joy FM's Cosmopolitan Mix Doreen Andoh has donated a box of books to Assin Kotobabi School in the Central Region.

The books which included encyclopedia, dictionaries, English Text Books and story books were donated as part of her Book farm Project which is geared towards supporting underprivileged pupils, schools and communities with learning materials, particularly reading books.

The project is also to inculcate in the children the habit of reading.

The radio goddess was moved by a story carried on TV3 News by Esi Beniwaa, which captured the plight of the pupils and the dilapidated nature of the school daring to make responsible leaders out of the children.

Doreen Andoh, Founder of the Book Farm project, donated the books to Esi Beniwaa to be given to the children of the Assin Kotobabi School.

"I realized the school lacks books, water and other social amenities for the pupils, so I said to myself, I can help them with some of the education problems because I collect books for children between ages 10 – 15,” she said during the donation ceremony.

She added, "I decided to give the books to the Assin Kotobabi School so that it will help the kids cultivate the culture of reading, start their own library and maybe in the future, we could help them with more books.”

The reporter, Esi Beniwaa expressed her heartfelt thanks to Doreen Andoh Book Farm for coming to the aid of the Assin Kotobabi School.

Andoh's Book Farm project has seen her donate books to children of Babato, a village on the outskirts of Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region.
