But for the timely intervention of the queen mother of New Juaben Traditional Area, some youth in Koforidua would have attacked the New Juaben Municipal director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE).

Nana Yaa Adaani prevented the youth from disgracing Peter Larweh for showing what they describe as gross disrespect to them at a public forum in Koforidua.

The drama unfolded at the Koforidua Apenteng Hall when the New Juaben Youth Forum organized a lecture dubbed ‘My Mandate.' It was a platform to give the electorate the opportunity to question the Member of Parliament (MP) for New Juaben South, Dr Mark Assibey Yeboah on his mandate and also to enable the NCCE to educate the citizenry on their civic rights.

The NCCE boss was asked a question relating to educating the public on how to avoid the high case of spoilt votes in this year elections but he is reported to have told the audience that he is not responsible for voter education.

Even though he attempted answering the question, the youth insisted that he speak in the Ghanaian language [twi, it is reported] to enable the aged and illiterate among the audience to decode, he got angry.

The youth were offended and wanted to attack the NCCE boss because they claim he has responded to a question in a manner they describe as uncouth and calling the bluff off his audience.

According to Joy News reporter Maxwell Kudedor, he shouted at them and threaten to walk out if the audience will not allow him to speak in English.

The youth, however, felt insulted by Mr Larweh’s comment and started using unprintable words on him until the Chairperson of the occasion, Nana Yaa Adaani intervened.
