Tatale/Sanguli District Assembly to embark on revenue mobilisation

Tatale, (N/R) Aug. 30, GNA - The Tatale /Sanguli District Assembly has approved GHÈ» 79,458.00 to be collected from internally generated sources.

As at June 30, the Assembly had managed to collect GHÈ» 59,577.00 as its Internal Generated Fund (IGF) representing 75 per cent of the estimated revenue.

Mr Nicholas Nakibe Waake, the District Chief Executive (DCE) in a speech read on his behalf during the second ordinary General Assembly of the Assembly said there is the need to for pragmatic measures to increase collections on the rates to meet the target set.

He announced that the Public Relations Committee and Revenue Task Force of the Assembly would soon embark on a revenue mobilisation education and collection.

The DCE said during the second quarter of 2016 the Assembly received GHÈ» 360,778.95 as its share of the second allocation of the District Assemblies' Common Fund for 2016.

He indicated that during the last session of the Assembly more than 50 per cent of the funds received from various sources had been invested in provision of physical infrastructure.

The District Assembly through funding from Ghana Education Trust Fund has awarded contracts for the construction of three primary school blocks for some schools.

Mr Waake said Nakpale-Borile, Tatale RCH Centre, and Droba have been earmarked to receive one CHPS Compound each.

He said r Roads Department to take over the road and complete it.

He said 110 people in the District have been recruited in to Youth in Community Police, Youth in Fire service, Youth in Prison Service, Environmental Protection Officers, E-Health Workers and most recently community Health workers.

Mr Frank Kibikal Nyimagnun, the Presiding Member of the Assembly asked the Assembly member to ensure free and fair elections on December 7.

He appealed to the Assembly members and politicians to be tolerant and avoid the use of abusive language on their campaign platforms.
