Having realized he will be found wanting when he allows this year’s electioneering campaign to become issue based, President Mahama has accepted to fully implement a plan by his strategists to reduce his campaign to mudslinging of his main opponent and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Daily Statesman can confirm.

This confirms why the president has made Nana Akufo-Addo a target for personal attacks since he commenced his ‘official’ campaign, after the national campaign launch of insults at Cape Coast.

So vicious and dirty have President Mahama and his handlers decided go on Nana Akufo-Addo that they allegedly commissioned the Africawatch magazine to come out with a cover story, to claim that the NPP Presidential Candidate is suffering from cancer.

In fact, Sam George, President Mahama’s boy and a Presidential Staff, Friday gave a hint of what they had planned from today when he said on Asempa FM boldy that “If you guys (referring to members of the NPP) know what is coming on Monday, you will run from Ghana.”

He further bragged that Nana Akufo-Addo’s campaign would “come to a halt Monday going.” “Monday is going to be a bomb,” he added gleefully, ostensibly armed with information about the evil agenda put in motion against the NPP Presidential Candidate, with the alleged support of the Africanwatch magazine.

We can state on authority that 4,000 copies of the Africawatch magazine were cleared from the port last week, with the NDC said to have prepaid for extra copies to be distributed nationwide. The magazine normally distributes less than 1,000 copies per edition in Ghana.
