KUMACA USA to organise Fund Raising event in New York

Ahead of its 60th anniversary celebration, the North American branch of the Kumasi Academy old students’ association will this month organize a fund raising and dinner dance event in New York.

The program, slated for Saturday August 27 at the Radisson JFK Hotel in Queens, New York, is the second of its kind.

The leadership of the association is determined to raise money to build a multi-purpose science laboratory for the students.

All old students right from1960 are expected to attend the program.

A similar fund raising event was able to mobilize funds for the first stage of the laboratory project. Organisers say, this event will help in raising funds towards the completion of the project.

In order to fulfill the objective of the fund raising ceremony, the association is appealing to old students especially in North America to donate $100 each towards the campaign.

Ticket for the event is $100 per person and $170 for a couple.

There will also be school souvenirs like polo T-shirts for $20. Those unable to make it are encouraged to visit the association’s website www.kumacausa.org , and pay the amount of $100.

The dinner dance is also to provide an opportunity for members to network, share ideas and to rekindle old relationship.
