CPP members urged to follow procedures for redress

Sunyani, Aug 18, GNA - Mrs Susan Adu-Amankwaa, the Second Vice Chairperson of the Convention People's Party (CPP), on Friday challenged disgruntled members of the party to follow procedures for redress of grievances.

She said every member of the CPP must respect the party's structures since opportunity had been provided for all dissatisfied members to approach or face the disciplinary committee to resolve internal problems.

Mrs Adu-Amankwaa, who is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana (PSGH) threw the challenge in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of the 2016 Annual General Meeting of the Society in Sunyani.

She explained that as a third force in Ghana's politics now, the party was poised to win the December 7 polls and underscored the need for members to avoid petty squabbles and all internal wrangling that had the potential to jeopardise the party's fortunes in the general election.

Mrs Adu-Amankwaa underlined the need for the members and supporters of the party, especially the parliamentary candidates who served as frontliners, to intensify campaigns at the grassroots to propagate the ideologies of the party to the electorate.

She said if the electorate understood the party's ideals and philosophies they could make informed decisions and vote for the party.

Mrs Adu-Amankwaa observed that the two major political parties; National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party, had failed Ghanaians and the 2016 election is an opportunity for the electorate to try a CPP government.

She expressed regret that the "winner takes all" politics remained the bane of national development, and said the country required all-inclusive system of governance that could speed up socio-economic development.
