NDC Akua Donkor Car Causes Stir In NDC
AUG 6, 2016 LISTEN

Controversial politician, Akua Donkor, has incurred the wrath of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for claiming that President Mahama had presented a mansion and two Mitsubishi Pajeros to her.

The outspoken politician, who is the flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), stated on radio that President John Mahama had presented to her a mansion, located at Sakumono in Accra.

Madam Donkor said President Mahama gave her the two vehicles after the flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, took his Tundra vehicle from her.

She said the cars were brand new that she picked from the store.

Anger
Akua Donkor's revelation about the goodies that the president had presented to her is said to have angered several NDC youth, who claim that the party had abandoned them after their efforts that helped the party to win the 2012 polls.

Madam Donkor explained that her house was gutted by an inferno and that upon learning about her predicament, President Mahama instantly gave her a plush mansion at Sakumono to stay in.

According to the standard bearer of the GFP, who had embarked on foreign trips with the president, the house and the vehicle were intended to make her life comfortable and peaceful.

The GFP leader sounded boastful in her delivery as if she intentionally wanted to taunt her critics about how she had suddenly become fabulously rich since she began to associate herself with President Mahama.

Beaming with smiles, Akua Donkor, who had continuously claimed that President Mahama is her son, appealed passionately to Ghanaians to thank the president on her behalf for making her life worthwhile.

Crisis Management
Kwaku Boahen, Deputy Communications Officer of the NDC, who desperately wanted to save the situation, said there is no iota of truth in the statement of Madam Akua Donkor, claiming “it is all lies.”

Kwaku Boahen curiously rose to the defence of Akua Donkor, saying the GFP leader owns a huge cocoa farm and therefore she has the financial wherewithal to purchase a brand new Pajero and build a mansion.

He said on radio that the NDC administration doesn't give goodies to people who are close to the presidency at the detriment of Ghanaians.

NPP
Adomako Barfi of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who also spoke on the same show, chastised the Mahama-led NDC administration for distributing state resources to its cronies, as the masses continue to suffer.

He was of the view that Akua Donkor's revelation indicates one of the numerous goodies that the presidency had been showering on its close associates, stressing the need for the NPP to win the upcoming elections to stop the corruption and the rot at the presidency.
