Old students of Fijai SHS support their alma mater

Fijai (W/R), July 29, GNA - The Fijai Old Students Association (FOSA) Senior High School in the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis has undertaken a number of develop projects in the school to enhance teaching and learning.

Some of the projects are the construction of a new girls' and boys' dormitories, washrooms, staff common room, provision of two polytanks to store water and two boreholes, as well as the rehabilitation of the Visual Arts block, fence wall and science laboratories.

Speaking at the launch of this year's homecoming celebration at the school campus, Mr Kofi Ata Bedu, the National Vice President of FOSA, acknowledged the contributions of all stakeholders whose efforts have made the various projects possible.

Captain Albert Edusah, the Chairman of the Homecoming Planning Committee, said the Association has developed a five-year development plan to refurbish facilities in the school and urged the current students to take proper care of the existing facilities.

He said the Association has targeted raising GH¢500, 000 during the celebration in October this year, in order to refurbish the old classroom block and solve other pressing needs.

Mr Ocloo Nyamadi, the Headmaster of the School, lauded the immense contributions of the old students, describing the gesture as very encouraging and overwhelming.

He asked the Association to always involve the management of the school in its planning and activities.

Some of the activities lined up for the celebration include candlelight possession, health walk, fund-raising ceremony and a dinner-night.
