Ada (GAR), July 28, GNA - MTN Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢ 5,000.00, recharge cards worth GH¢ 1,000.00 and a hamper loaded with drinks to support the Asafotufiame festival of the chiefs and people of Ada Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region.

Mr Prince Owusu Nyarko, MTN Area Sales Manager for the Greater Accra Region presenting the items said the relationship between MTN and the people of Ada has grown and continue to grow from strength to strengthen.

He said at MTN, relationship is one of its value and it's an opportunity to deepen the bond between the two.

He commended Nene Kabu Akuaku III and people of Ada for the part they played in the 20 year journey of MTN.

'Your continuous support to our brand has helped immensely to make us the network of choice and leader in the Telecommunication industry,' he added.

He said as an indigenous company, MTN was committed to supporting and promoting the rich Ghanaian heritage and festivals.

'As a result, we have in the past nine years committed our resources to support select traditional festivals each year across the country,' he said.

He said in addition to the donation the company would support the organisation of the durbar of chiefs and people of Ada as well as the Ada Royal Walk.

MTN would also organise social activities throughout the festival period such as MTN Asafotu Jam.

He said MTN would continue to invest in state-of-the art infrastructure to serve its subscribers in line with their vision to lead the delivery of bold new digital world.

'We will continue to invest to support sustainable development as we strive to brighten the lives of the people in the communities,' he said.

Mr Jonathan Dokutso, the Secretary to the Planning Committee expressed gratitude to the management of MTN for the support.

He cautioned companies, who conduct ambush marketing during the celebrations to desist from that practice and rather contact the planning committee.

He said the focus of this year's celebration was targeted at development the tourism potentials of the area.
