Accra, July 26, GNA - His Majesty Dr Alayeluwa Oba Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi Ojaja II, the great King of IIe-Ife in Nigeria, has honoured the Ga Mantse, King Nii Adama Latse II, at Ga Traditional Council in Accra.

As part of his three days visit to Ghana, he expressed his commitment to renew and strengthened the historical bond between the two great ethnic groups.

He said IIe-Ife had an important link with the Ga Kingdom since time immemorial and called on the people to maintain and protect the rich values that both Kingdoms stood for.

He said King Ooni Oranwiyan, his ancestral father he succeeded was acclaimed a peace lover, hardworking and discipline among his subjects and 'we as his descendants have to exhibit these qualities to continue with the good works he did'.

King Ogunwusi Ojaja said it is worth remembering such a collaborative efforts in the past between the people of IIe-Ife and the Ga Kingdom to share experience among themselves which would transform the lives of the people.

He extended a special invitation to the Ga Mantse, Nii Adama Latse II, to visit IIe-Ife to consolidate the efforts of both Kingdoms.

Nii Adama Latse expressed gratitude to the Yoruba King for his visit and recognition of his descendants in Accra.

He said it is worth expressing his appreciation to such a great person who is not only development-oriented, but also a King who identifies himself with his people and it is for all leaders to emulate his good leadership.

History has it that the people of Ga Mashie migrated from IIe—Ife in Nigeria to their present place of abode on the plains of Accra.
