Kumasi, July 26, GNA - Seven newly trained priests alongside three deacons have been ordained into the Anglican Church with a call to them to do more to give hope and confidence to the people.

The Primate and Metropolitan Archbishop of the Internal Province of the Church, the Most Reverend Professor Daniel Yinkah-Sarfo, said they should help the congregation to grow in their faith.

The priests included the Rev Alexander Kodua, the Rev Evans Oppong, the Rev Augustine Kudolo, the Rev Emmanuel Kofi Amaadi, the Rev Ernest Owusu, Amponsah, the Rev Philip Owusu Gyamfi and the Rev Charles Gyamfi.

The deacons were the Rev Kwadwo Boakye, Anthony Kusi and Richard Boampong Frimpong.

Performing the ordination at a packed service held at the Saint Cyprian the Martyr Anglican Cathedral in Kumasi, Archbishop Yinkah-Sarfo, urged them to preach the true gospel and walk in the footsteps of Christ.

They should be diligent and reflect the values of the Christian Church, he added.

He asked that God gave them the power, strength and the Holy Spirit to perform their ministration.

He said it was his prayer that through them 'more people would come to know Christ'.

He appealed to the congregation and their families to support them with prayers to overcome pitfalls and live up to their calling.

Special prayers were said for the nation's leaders and for peace, unity and stability of the nation as it inched towards general election.
