… But Tema Iron Lady Snubs Overtures
  From Inusa Musah, Tema
Carlos Kinglsey Ahenkorah, Tema West parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he is unhappy that his efforts and moves to make peace with Irene Naa Torshie Addo, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, including following her up to church, have not yielded the needed results.

He explained that he requested the pastor of Irene Naa Torshie's church to hand him the microphone and to permit him a minute of their time to plead with Naa Torshie to smoke the peace pipe with her, but that move, Carlos said, was rejected by the MP.

“I have exhausted all the avenues available to me to ensure that my sister and I put behind whatever might have happened between us, but the result has still been the same –bitterness,”   he said, adding that joining Naa Torshie at her church to worship with her was the last peace building attempt I have made.

That notwithstanding, Carlos Ahenkorah said the NPP in the constituency was bent on ensuring that the area continued to be the waterloo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in this year's general elections.

The NPP's 2016 parliamentary candidate said these in an interview with a section of the media in Tema over the weekend, where he held a party for the kids in the constituency, as part of the week-long events he earmarked to celebrate his 50th birthday.

He said the NPP in the constituency might seem divided, but it was united, not only to hand the NDC a resounding defeat, but also garner one touch victory for Nana Addo, the presidential candidate.

In order to achieve the needed polls to send the governing NDC party into opposition, Carlos Ahenkorah said the NPP in Tema West had taken the workable policies of Nana Addo to commercial drivers in the metropolis, after distributing thousands of Nana Addo and NPP branded souvenirs to them.

Only Nana Addo, he continued, can get Ghana working again, “after the Mahama administration had collapsed the over 50 social intervention policies the NPP under former President Kufuor instituted.”

He said Nana Addo would be the best president Ghana would ever have if voted on December 7, explaining that he was committed to serving Ghanaians by bettering their lives.

“Nana Addo cannot be corrupted, and his vision for Ghana would be felt in his first term,” Carlos Ahenkorah explained.

He, consequently, charged all party members to take the message of the NPP to the down-trodden, to enable Nana Addo and the NPP come back to government and to put the economy of the country on the strong path that former President Kufuor left it.

“We are working for the NPP and Nana Addo, therefore, I am still willing to meet with Naa Torshie to make peace so that we can still form the formidable winsome team for the party we both love to serve,” he said.

Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah was grateful to his team and Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo for the support he had been receiving from them.

His 50th birthday celebration saw him presenting hospital equipment to the Tema Polyclinic and Tema General Hospital, distributing education materials to schools in Tema West and making donations to the aged, widows and taxi drivers in the constituency.
