Ankaful (C/R), July 21, GNA - The Ebenezer Methodist Church at Siwdo in Cape Coast, has donated assorted items to support the upkeep of inpatients at the Ankaful Psychiatric hospital.

The items worth GH₵3,000.00, include bags of rice, maize, ground nuts and gari; gallons of cooking oil, soap, toiletries, and clothes.

The Very Reverend John Quayson the Superintendent Minister of the Siwdo Circuit, who led a delegation from the church to donate the items said the gesture was in response to an appeal by the hospital management.

He said it was also in continuation of the church's duty of supporting the destitute in the society.

A senior nursing officer of the hospital, Mr Charles Ofosuhene who received the items on behalf of management expressed his appreciation to the church for its benevolence.

He appealed to other religious and corporate bodies as well as individuals to support the running of the hospital.

The hospital built in June 1965 and one of the three public psychiatric hospitals in the country, serves the Central, Western and Ashanti Regions as well as some neighbouring countries.
