NDC USA Chapter Organizes Annual Conference

The USA Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in collaboration with all branches and party sympathizers organized annual conference in Maryland on July 9, 2016 to support the re-election of President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming 2016 elections.

The conference was also used to formally launch fund raising among member branches. Dignitaries present at the conference were Ghana’s Ambassador to the USA H.E. Lt General Henry Smith with his deputy Mr. Skido Achulo, and NDC delegation from the head office in Ghana, Hon. Kofi Attor Director of International Relations with the deputy National Youth Organizer Mr. James Kofi Fonu Kpatakpa, the Chapter Chairman Mr. Nii Armah with the chapter Secretary Mr. Charles Kpodzo.

Mr. Kofi Attor thrilled the party faithful and all present about the origin of the NDC to its current position and where it is heading. He elaborated on the party’s aspirations and laid emphasis on why the party cannot afford to lose the 2016 election. He re-counted the massive developments that the country is witnessing under President Dramani Mahama, and encouraged all party faithful and sympathizers to support the party in winning the 2016 election. He charged the Chapter and all branches to instill discipline in their members and above all, to ensure peace and togetherness in NDC -USA branches.

The deputy National Youth Organizer Mr. James Kofi Kpatakpa took the gathering through the various youth programs that the NDC government has initiated. According to him, youth programs like Green House, Youth Empowerment Support Programs, etc. are here to stay, and many youths are benefitting from them. He advised Ghanaian youths both home and abroad to take advantage of these programs to become successful business owners. With the current youth support programs that the government has put in place, one does not necessarily have to complete university and be looking for employment, he said. According to him, just present your ideas to the government on the type of business you want to establish and you will be supported to become your own boss.

Ghana Ambassador to the United States of America, H.E Lt-Gen. Henry Smith on his remarks, thanks the delegates from Accra-Ghana for making time to join them in the United States to hold this year’s annual conference of NDC USA Chapter. He reminded the Chapter the need to remain together and bring all members aboard under one umbrella.

According to Ambassador Smith, the NDC party has delivered on its motto of Peace, Stability and Development. Peace and stability is in our country-Ghana is being seen everywhere in the country.

The fundraising was lunched, and NDC New York Branch is the next to have its fundraising which is slated for August ending.

In all, the program was successful. The passion for NDC was once again rejuvenated among the party faithful and sympathizers.
