Italian Football Fan Kills Nigerian Refugee In Italy

In a racist attack, a refugee in the small Italian town Paolo Calcinora was killed on the street.

Emmanuel Chidi Namdi, a refugee from Nigeria has been killed in a racist attack in Italy on the street. A 36-year old Italian football fan in the small town of Paolo Calcinora abused racially and then brutally hit an object on the head of the Nigerian refugee.

The incident occurred on Tuesday as the Nigerian walked with his girlfriend on the street, as reported by the Italian news agency "Agi". The Nigerian (man) having being hit by the Italian hooligan footbal fan, felt down unconscious, he was rushed to the Hospital, but without regaining consciousness died on Wednesday.

The mayor of the Italian small town Paolo Calcinora was shocked. "I have the feeling of having a nightmare," he told the News agency. His city is open and receptive to immigrants, he said.

The Nigerian had lived in the area for eight months, accommodated and was last in a home of the Italian Caritas. The Italians currently meet a number of migrants and refugees fleeing across the Mediterranean to Europe. In the first half there were more than 70,000 foreigners in the Country.
