Health NGO organises blood donation to save lives

Dromo Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), that champions the welfare of children and the vulnerable in society, has held a blood donation exercise in the La Dadekotopon Municipal Area (LADMA) to save lives.

The aim of the exercise was to help stock the blood banks of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the La General Hospital's Children and Maternity wards, respectively, to save the lives of patients.

Naa Dromo Ollenu, the Founder and President of the Foundation, said this the foundation was organising the event, together with medical screening programmes.

Naa Dromo expressed the hope that they would be able to achieve their target of 300 units of blood.

She urged all healthy citizens to support blood donation initiatives because many lives re lost whenever there as a shortage.

She expressed gratitude to all their sponsors for the contributions they made towards the success of the exercise.

Mr Martin Hayford, the Patron of the Foundation and a Gospel Artiste, urged other institutions to support them to be able to execute the activities of the Foundation smoothly.

Ms Abigail Allotey, a donor, in an interaction said, that was her second time of donating.

“I am willing to donate more because I see it as a form of saving lives,” she added.
