Accra, July 02, GNA - Progress In Education (PIE Ghana), a Non-Governmental Organisation, has donated stationery, teaching modules, Science and Laboratory equipment to 34 Senior High Schools across the country.

The equipment, which include computers, printers, and projector screens, is to augment the Government's efforts to reach out to deprived schools across the country.

Addressing the ceremony, the Reverend Daniel Ogbarmey-Tetteh, the Executive Director of Data Bank, said Science and Technology were life changing subjects and must be supported by all educational stakeholders to be taught and learned successfully to impact on society.

Rev Ogbarmey-Tetteh said students must be encouraged to use modern techniques of solving problems, and this could be done with computers and Internet facilities.

Parents and teachers, he said, should, also work with the students to relate to Science in a practical way.

He also advised the Government to support NGOs who solicited funds and equipment to support the educational Sector with tax incentives.

The Chairperson of the ceremony, Dr Mrs Sylvia Boye, a former head of the West African Examination Council, urged the students to share their passions with level-headed and open-minded people related to their courses for better advice and future gains.

PIE Ghana is headquartered in Houston, USA, and has since 2000 supported schools with educational materials, especially Science-related ones.
