NPP NPP will not steal SADA money - Bawumia
JUL 1, 2016 LISTEN

Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the government of the NPP will not embezzle allocations of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA).

According to him, they will use the budgetary allocation of SADA to transform and bridge the North and South development gap existing in the country.

“We are going to build a new economy where everybody is going to benefit. The North will see major development, we are not going to take SADA money and steal it, we will restore the trainee allowances, strengthen the NHIS and create jobs,” he said.

The renowned economist disclosed this during he addressed some Muslims of the Wa Zongo Mosque in the Upper West Region.

He lamented about the excruciating pain Ghanaians are going to make their living.

He stated: “If you are in Ghana today you will know that Ghana needs a change and we should all pray to Allah to deliver us that change so that the suffering of the people will reduce.”

He said a compounded effect of a high electricity tariffs, the non-functioning National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), and government’s cancellation of trainee allowances have eroded the bright future of Ghanaians.

“Today we cannot pay our electricity bills, today we cannot pay our school fees, today our NHIS is not working, today our trainee allowances have been cancelled, our secondary schools in the North and even teacher trainee schools are not getting their feeding grants, our youths cannot find employment and our economy is struggling,” he lamented.

Bawumia believes the only way out of these rut for Ghanaians would be for them to vote out the Mahama government which has inflicted the problems on the country.

“We need a change,” he said, adding, the economy of the country needs a strong footing to ensure a brighter future for all Ghanaians.

He former banker noted the journey to the Flagstaff house will take God, saying, “It is only Allah who can make someone a President or Vice-President or Chief or King.”

“That is why we are trying to pray as much as possible so that Allah would open the door for us, Nana Akufo-Addo and myself and that is why I am here to ask for your prayers,” he added.
