Bright Future Kids Career Programme Held In Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality

Health Promotion Watch Ghana(HPWG) has began a career development program for Basic schools in Ledzokuku Krowor Municipality. The program dubbed: Bright Future kids career program seeks to provide kids from deprived schools an opportunity to develop and plan their career while in the primary school.

Beneficiaries of the career development programme include Nungua LEKMA 3 primary, Krobo ‘A’ primary, Anglican Primary A and B, Teshie Camp 2 A and B and Nungua Methodist Basic School.

The first of the project took place at Nungua LEKMA 3 Primary yeaterday 29th June 2016. Miss Portia Addo a Career Development Officer and Head of Program and Projects at Health Promotion Watch Ghana was main resource person for the program.

She took the kids through five important things to remember in shaping their career; 1. Take time to think about what you like to do; dream and imagine ideal careers. 2. Challenge yourself in high school, but don’t overwhelm yourself. 3. Get as much education as you can 4. Talk with as many adults as possible about careers and colleges and finally Remember that everyone must follow his or her own path in life.

The pupils were challenged to develop a career path during the program which most responded positively.

The program ended with a formation of a career club made up forty pupils.
