The Ghana Bar Association (GBA) has added its voice to condemn Assin North Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong, for saying the Electoral Commission (EC) Chair got her job by sleeping with power brokers.
The Association says the comment against Mrs Osei by the legislator is “distasteful, offensive, abusive and derogatory not only to Mrs Osei, but to women in general.”
Mr Agyapong recently said the EC Chair gave sexual favours in order to be considered for her current position.
The comments have drawn condemnations from many individuals, organisations, civil society and women groups.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) which Mr Agyapong is a member of are yet to comment on the issue.
