Emirates Boosts Business Opportunities By Enhancing Its Service To Dakar 

Emirates Airline has given leisure travel and business opportunities in West Africa a significant boost with the replacement of its Airbus A340-300 on its Dubai – Dakar route with the Boeing 777-300ER. This replacement which is set to take effect from 2^nd September, 2016 will increase passenger capacity on the route by 372 seats per week reinforcing Emirates’ commitment to passengers visiting the capital of Senegal.

Many Ghanaian businessmen and women with business interests in Dakar will see this development as a great opportunity as the introduction of the larger aircraft will open up an additional cargo capacity of 80 tonnes per week on the route, facilitating further trade opportunities between Senegal and Emirates’ global network of more than 150 destinations.

The larger Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which was introduced four years ago on the Accra to Dubai route, will offer an enhanced onboard experience for those travelling to Dakar with its three class configuration consisting of eight private suites in First Class, featuring automated sliding doors for privacy, personal mini-bar, and fully inclined seats; 42 lie flat seats in Business Class; and 310 spacious seats in Economy Class.

Dubai has recently seen a steady increase in the number of Ghanaian business men and women who see the country as the gateway to Asia, Europe and Middle East. The business opportunities are evident in the fact that Senegal exports seafood, primarily destined for Athens and Larnaca in the Mediterranean, Beirut in the Levant, Rome in Europe and Hong Kong in the Far east; whereas vegetables are mainly carried to European destinations. Further opportunities are available for Ghanaian businesses looking to export to Dakar as the country imports oil industry equipment from the UAE, textiles from Asia, electronics from the Far East, Europe, and of products and garments from India.

The return flight EK 798 departs at 1745hrs and arrives back in Dubai at 0745hrs.
