Africa Internet Groups harmonised into Jumia

Accra, June 25, GNA - Africa Internet Group (AIG), an online internet group in Africa, has harmonised its brands and resorted to the Jumia ecosystem with a new vision: 'Expand your horizons.'

The new Jumia's vision aims to express the group's ambition to transform people's lives through internet by overcoming the ground market challenges of the continent and giving all Africans the opportunity to access high quality services and products everywhere.

'People can now find on Jumia all their needs; branded products with Jumia previously Jumia and Kaymu, local vendors with Jumia market previously Kaymu, hotel booking with Jumia Travel previously Jovago, food delivery with Jumia Food previously Hellofood, classifieds with Jumia Deals previously Vendito, Jumia House previously Lamudi and Jumia Car previously Carmudi.

'And lastly logistics services with Jumia services, previously ACIX,' Mr Sacha Poignonnec, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Jumia Market told Journalist in Accra at the AIG Annual Press Conference.

Mr Jeremy Hodara, CEO of Jumia said the AIG companies were founded with a strong belief where internet would improve people's lives in Africa.

'Uniting all services allows us to better help customers fulfill their daily aspirations, this all possible because people connect to our platform to access those services and products in an environment that we have designed for them addressing their needs and expectations on quality, choice, price, trust and convenience,' he said.

Madam Claire Staal, the Country Manager of Jovago, said the new approach would take different services under one umbrella to make customers live a more comfortable life.

She said vendors would benefit from the move by getting access to more traffic and a greater world of opportunities.

'Operating under the same brand name reinforces the legitimacy of proposing other services to our customers and our vendors, 'We want to have one strong brand that is trusted and loved by our across Africa,' she said.

Mr Abdul-Latif Issahaku, the Data and Devices Manager of MTN Ghana, expressed happiness about the Jumia MTN partnership and promised of MTN's support saying 'MTN will always be in line to support,' he said.

Mr Joseph Tetteh, the Director of Information Technology at the Ministry of Communication, called for a regulatory framework that would ensure that players adhered to global best practices for e-commerce delivery.

He assured stakeholders of the ministry's readiness to receive concerns for deliberation and proposed lasting solution for the benefit of all.
