Mampong (Ash) June 25---The Parents -Teachers Association (PTA) at Asante Mampong St Monica's Senior High school (SHS)has appealed to the Ghana Education Service (GES) to be flexible with the directive that PTAs cannot impose any levy on their members without the prior approval by the GES describing it as attempt to kill initiative. .

Rev. Emmanuel Kwame Kwaakye, Vice Chairman of the school PTA made this remarks during a sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of estimated GH¢ 200 million PTA three- storey Teachers' Bungalow which when completed will accommodate 20 teachers,

He said it is unfortunate that politicians especially those in government constantly appeal to the public to contribute towards quality education in Ghana but at the same time make it difficult for people who are willing to assist in that direction because of certain ambiguous polices and directives.

Mr Kwadwo Agyenim - Boaten, the PTA Chairman mentioned a number of development projects the PTA have done for the school since its inception in 1946 which include conversion of all the pit-latrines in the school to water-closets, construction of five Bungalows for the teachers and provision of incinerator for the school.
