Does Koku Anyidoho Understand the Authority of the Supreme Court?
25.06.2016 LISTEN

It is very truthful, and apparently demonstrable, the saying, “If the elephant falls down, any animal at all seizes the opportunity to inflict punches on him”.

The notorious NDC toady Koku Anyidoho, in exhibition of his total ignorance in attempts to undermine or rubbish the authority of the Supreme Court, has clearly given practical demonstration to the above cited saying.

He thinks the fact that his political party is in government, bestows upon him the automatic right to underestimate the powers of the judiciary.

In demonstrating his total disregard for the Supreme Court, sycophant Koku Anyidoho has the following to say about the stringent directive issued to the Electoral Commission on Thursday, 23 June 2016 by the Supreme Court in relation to those who registered their names onto the electoral roll using NHIS card for national identification.

“It is not possible that the SC will tell the EC what to do because I know the EC in its own way is discharging its duties as an institution, and so it is better to allow the Supreme Court to run the elections if it feels the EC is inefficient”.

The views as expressed by Koku Anyidoho understandably depict his total ignorance and deliberate acts to sabotage the Supreme Court. Does he understand the functions of the three arms of government (the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary) in a democratic government/country?

Does he again know about the separation of powers and checks and balances as are operable in democratic governance? Is he aware of the independence of the judiciary from the other arms of government and how each arm of government is independent from each other but they work together for the end benefit of the country and her citizens? If he did know them, he would not have behaved so irresponsibly with his machismo utterances directed at demeaning the Ghana Supreme Court.

What do Ghanaians expect, having people like Koku Anyidoho and his like-minded blockheads in government? For the attention of Koku Anyidoho, every institution in the country has to bow to the authority of the Supreme Court when it comes to the interpretation of the nation’s Constitution, Laws, Codes and Acts. The Electoral Commission is although independent, when it comes to abuses of power with regard to the laws governing its set-up and running, the Supreme Court has the absolute right to wade in without restraint. To educate this ignorant toady, will he mind answering the underlying few questions?

1. How did the Electoral Commission become an independent institution?

2. Who initially drew the laws and set them in motion to make the EC independent?

3. The fact that the EC is independent, can it behave so irresponsibly with impunity?

4. Does Koku Anyidoho know how powerful the judiciary is in any civilized and law-abiding country? 5. The Supreme Court is not there to run the elections of the country, however, it can regulate the excesses by any lawless Electoral Commissioner e.g. Mrs Charlotte Osei

6. Does Koku Anyidoho know that the President of Ghana can be dealt with by the Supreme Court if he is reported to have committed grievous crime against the country and her citizens? I hope Koku Anyidoho will from today forward cease wallowing in his man-made pool of ignorance.

If he never knew how powerful the Supreme Court is, I have made strenuous attempts to explain it to him today. The perpetuation of lawlessness in the country of which he is not only a part but also, plays a conspicuous role, will never make him and his cronies or accomplices to be above the law. No matter what they do, they come under the authority of the Supreme Court should they ever be found to breach the laws of the land.

If he does not change his deplorable ways but continues to conduct himself as though he holds the entire country (Ghana) in his hands like a delicate egg which he can smash onto the floor as and when he wants, then I am afraid the Supreme Court will soon teach him a never-to-forget bitter lesson.

To him I say, “He who does not know, but knows not that he does not know, is a fool”
