MTN Ghana Celebrates SunCity Fest With Medical Outreach And Cuestomer Engagement Fora

MTN Ghana and the people of Brong Ahafo Region are celebrating Suncityfest 2016,an annual month-long regional festival initiated by MTN that is taking place from 1st to30^thJune.

The celebration forms part of MTN’s nationwide “brightening life”initiatives. It is a channel through which MTN connects with customers and stakeholders in the region. It is also held to express MTN’s appreciation to MTN subscribers and other stakeholders in the region for their loyalty to the brand.

Since the inception of the festival about five years ago, various life enriching activities,including the provision of medical and social amenities,have been brought to the doorstep of several communities in the region.

Suncityfest 2016 will involve 30days of targeted events, activations and consumer engagements.

A key feature of this year’s celebration is the provision of free surgeries to patients with hernia and fibroid conditions.

Other activities planned for the celebrations are:

· Media Editors/Stakeholders forum
· Mobile Money Merchant Forum
· Community Forum
· MTN Walkathon
· Data/Value Added Services Clinics – MTN 20^thAnniversary Promotions

· Gospel Musical Show
· MTN Inter-Community Gala at Techiman, Berekum and Sunyani

Speaking about Suncityfest, James Bukari Basintale, General Manager for the NorthernBusinessDistrict ofMTN Ghana, said, “MTN will continue to appreciate the people of Brong Ahafo for their loyalty to the brand and to MTN business as a whole. The planned activities, particularly the Medical Outreach,demonstrate that we are really focused on brightening the lives of people in this region.”

He said, “This festival fosters regional prideand strengthens relationships”.

He encouraged the people of the region to fully participate in all the planned activities.

Suncity Fest is one of several regional festivals designed by MTN to celebrate and engage members of communities in which the companyoperates. Other regional festivals created by MTN include, Koftownfest (Eastern Region) Ashantifest(Ashanti Region), TwinCityfest (Western and Central Region) and Savannafest (Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions). The MTN-Community festival season began with Ashantifest in the month of May.
